KANSAS GRAND SLAM of Ultrarunning is coming in 2014, sponsored by Epic Ultras! How EPIC are YOU? Do you have what it takes to complete four 100 mile races each with their own challenges? Kicking off with the smooth and fast rails-to-trails Epic Ultras “Prairie Spirit 100″ in the crisp early spring air, runners will get to ease into “The Slam”. Smart ultrarunners will then start some heat acclimation training to get ready for the Epic Ultras “Honey Badger 100″ across the paved county roads in Kingman County in mid JULY. If you think you might want a taste of what the Badwater Ultramarathon has to offer, consider Honey Badger first. The 3rd race in The Kansas Grand Slam will then take place on the much more technical – rocky, hilly, and root infused – single track trails of Clinton Lake at Lawrence Trail Hawks “Hawk Hundred”. Last but not least, and only a month later, Kansas Grand Slam hopefuls will take on the Kansas Ultrarunner’s Society “Heartland 100″ which traverses the open expanses of Kansas’ beautiful Flint Hills.
